Intro to Handtools
Get offline and away from power tools and work with your hands! Build something beautiful!
This three-day class will introduce students to hand saws, planes, and chisels, and some of the many types of joinery that can be utilized in projects. This class is great for beginners, or woodworkers looking to tune up their skills.
Students will have the opportunity practice and build a small plant stand using half-lap and bridal joints. Additionally, this class will discuss some of the many handtools available, and how to sharpen and maintain them.
Tools used in this class will include chisels & mallets, combination squares, Japanese pull-saws, and the 4 1/2 hand plane.
Class runs from 10 am to 5 pm, with an hour break for lunch. We provide all the materials & PPE you need, so come with sturdy shoes & clothes you don't mind getting dusty. You can look forward to leaving with a beautiful plant stand!
