Workshops

Workshops at the Vermont Woodworking School are a great way to try out a new skill or dedicate some time to perfecting your craft. Come spend some time in the woodshop with us!

Location:

Our historical dairy barn turned modern woodworking facility. Located between the towns of Cambridge and Fairfax and about 45 minutes north of Burlington.

Schedule:

Workshops at VWS start at 10 am and run until 5 pm, with an hour break around noon for lunch. Check-in on the first day takes care of all the paperwork - then it's right into the shop!

Food & Accommodations:

There are a number of local shops to pick up lunch - feel free to ask for recommendations! You're also welcome to bring a packed lunch and take advantage of the kitchenette on the third floor.

On some occasions, we may have rooms available in our student housing. For more information or to check availability, please contact us!

Intro to Furniture

Learn the basics of furniture making & take home your own hall table!

Topics include: working with wood movement, shop equipment safety, mortise & tenon joinery, and more!

Dive into green turning and the wonders of spalted wood. Learn to cultivate, turn, and stabilize it.
